Toronto Council Wastes $20,000 Debating Withdrawing Support For Canadian Troops

Author: Kevin Gaudet 2007/06/19

Toronto: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) today released estimated costs to the city for council debating the issue of removing 'Support Our Troops' decals from city vehicles. CTF Ontario Director Kevin Gaudet said, "instead of wasting time and money withdrawing support for our troops they should be looking for ways to save money and reduce our taxes."

Total cost: $19,338

Gaudet concluded, "city council is planning tax hikes on garbage, house purchases, licenses, road tolls, liquor and tobacco yet they are wasting time and money on issues like this. This is more proof of waste and misplace priorities at city hall."
